🤠 Cowboy Families, Students & Staff — We’re Ready!
What an INCREDIBLE first week with staff at Plateau Valley! We are so proud of our Cowboys and incredibly thankful for the families, staff, and community members who helped us get the year started on such a positive note.
We had 80% family engagement during our first week of activities! Our new playground is already proving to be a wonderful gathering place, and Junior High Family Night was a success. Our staff also spent meaningful time learning and growing and learning together. Our facilitator shared how impressed she was with the commitment and heart of our team.
And now… it’s time for school! 🎉
As we prepare to welcome ALL of our Cowboys, we are asking parents, students, and staff to take a few minutes to review the information being shared with this post and there are many details in the August Newsletter coming to you tomorrow! There are a couple of important changes and expectations we all need to know going into the year:
🚗 PARKING, DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
Our new campus configuration means some new traffic patterns. Please review the parking and traffic information carefully before arriving at school.
The west parking lot will be used for parent drop-off and pick-up and student parking. The east parking lot is primarily for buses and staff parking.
The first few days will take some patience as everyone learns the new routine. Safety comes first, so please follow the designated traffic flow and help us keep our students, families, buses, and staff moving safely.
📵 CELL PHONES — BELL TO BELL
From 8:00 AM–4:07 PM, including passing periods and lunch, students will be cell-phone free.
Why? Because we want our students present.
Present in class.
Present with their teachers.
Present with their friends.
Present in the opportunities happening right in front of them.
The information attached includes a short video and some research explaining why reducing cell-phone distractions during the school day matters. We encourage families to watch and talk about it together.
🏈🏐 Our fall sports teams are getting locked in and ready to compete. Now it’s time to get school and academics locked in, too!
🐟 Even our trout tank is getting ready! The tank is set up, and we are working on creating just the right environment before welcoming our trout—another exciting hands-on learning opportunity for our students.
We know new routines take time, and we appreciate everyone’s patience, cooperation, and grace as we get started.
Most importantly, please read through the attached information before school. When our school and families work together and expectations are clear, our kids win.
